Dr Marchant’s undergraduate training was at St Barthomew’s Medical College in London. He graduated with honours in 1995, also having attained a first class BSc in Biochemistry.

Dr Marchant’s trained in anaesthetics in London and won the Gold Medal (Mackintosh Prize) for coming top of his year in his final fellowship post-graduate anaesthetics exams in 2000.

He was a consultant anaesthetist at The Royal Free Hospital from 2003 until 2023 with a special interest in paediatric anaesthesia. He now has a busy private practice in Central London.
